Vessel is all welded steel construction being typical river tug twin screw design, square bow rake fitted with Port and Starboard push knees and sheer forward and aft, rounded chine and square stern with two (2) main steering and four (4) flanking rudders. Carries all welded steel triple level super structure toward forward to aft deckhouse covering machinery space. Super structure complete with 6-dog, steel weather tight doors along main deck and upper levels. Sleeps a crew of ten (10). Hull is longitudinally framed with transverse stiffening, subdivided by five (5) transverse bulkheads, two (2) forward and three (3) aft of machinery compartment which is located amidships.
Vessel is propelled by two (2) "Mitsubishi" 512R-Y1MPTA, 12 Cylinder, electric started, keel cooled turbo diesel engines, each fitted with one (1) Twin Disc, MG 540, air over hydraulic clutch and reduction gear. Port and Starboard engines are pilothouse controlled and each rated at 1200 HP @ 1600 RPM with oil pressure, water temperature, gear oil drive pressure gauges and dry exhaust through metal pipe out top of engine stack aft of super structure. Main engines were replaced in September 2011. Engine hours as recorded: Starboard engine: 4,500 Hours; Port engine: 4,500 Hours. Two (2) "John Deere", Model 4045TF2800, keel cooled, air started, Diesel Engines, each driving one (1) "Norpro" 65 KW, 120/240 volt, generator located aft centerline machinery space. Electrical Services is run through approved type distribution panel, breaker boxes, and marine wiring throughout vessel. Generator sets were replaced in September 2011. Engine hours as recorded: Forward Center Engine: 10,000 Hours; Aft Center Engine: 10,000 Hours. "Northman" system steering is pilothouse controlled by two (2) "WEG" 25hp electric motors over hydraulic steering pumps and reservoir. Entire steering system renewed in July 2012 including wheelhouse throttle controls. All machinery appears properly secured and with proper protective guards in place and in apparent satisfactory condition. Lighting is incandescent and fluorescent. Machinery space complete with one (1) intake and one (1) exhaust fan enhanced with natural ventilation.
